  1. This guy has left a legacy. It's sad to see him go, but I can understand where he's coming from. Thankfully, he found a right-hand man to take over his work for the better good!
  2. The most I can do without server-side access is to see what pages they view. I'll ban the IP address and contact the forum software owner to see if he thinks they are looking for vulnerabilities. Thanks for the heads up!

So that's how you start a monopoly.
  4. Should I ban the IP address, if that is the case?
  5. It's OK, bro. We all have our quirks and personality traits that make us who we are today. At least in the adult world, most people learn to mind their own business and not react to the minor quirks and personality traits we possess.
  6. It's apparent by the replies on this topic Namecheap is one, if not the most popular domain registrar, maybe for message boards at least. I assume Cloudflare will gain more traction as time passes.
  7. I've been having the same issue lately. By doing a WHOIS lookup, a company by the name "Hetzner" has been crawling my board for the past two days every X seconds. It's weird all the types of bots there are these days.

I'm off for the next two days! This is the second week I received two days off in a row, usually, it's random days throughout the week.

I should've figured it had something to do with ads. I never knew YouTube paid people, that's news to me. I don't have enough interesting things or knowledge to share creating YouTube videos. My life is pretty bland.

I hate decorating during holidays, so my father or brother usually set up the decorations as they don't mind as much. When the decorations go up is random. How things are going, I feel like the decorations might not even get put up this year, or there will only be the basics like a tree and stockings.
  11. You and me both, sister! I was the shy/quiet type throughout my school years, so naturally, I had a target on my forehead. Forums were my escape from reality where people can't physically push and shove you around.
  12. I used ProBoards only once in my life and it didn't last long due to losing interest in the type of board I ran. I would be interested in giving it another whirl if I could think of a new forum I could run on the software, I would like to learn more about it. Don't forget about Jcink, the forum software I currently use. It seems dead as a doorknob when you frequent some forums and many of the larger forums have closed down over the past years, but I gain anywhere from 30 to 50 members a month, surely there's still some interest in the software. One person joined my board's Discord channel recently and said my board was the only active resource board he could find, so I guess that's why I gained so many new members.

I don't even understand how you make money uploading videos to YouTube.
  14. .com is what seems so widely popular with most sites that it's what people are used to using. If a user remembers the domain name, they are probably more likely to type in .com after the domain name due to its widespread use. If you have two different sites where one is used let's say, .com and the other uses .net I would think people would type in .com just for the sheer fact I mentioned previously. Most people who want to visit websites probably bookmark them or use search engines to find them, so I suppose it's not the biggest deal what you use. But what the majority uses is what most people probably remember the best.
  15. I've spent less than $50 in the past 5+ years considering the only thing I pay for is a custom domain.

Thanks for the inspiration and tips! I've considered remote work before, but it's hard to trust whether online businesses are legit or not. That's a pretty neat story that she got into making money on YouTube starting with DoorDash.
  18. All the codes and skins are free on my board. I do it as a hobby. :)
  19. It's worth a shot! I could have users subscribe to a newsletter for new resources released on the forum and perhaps that will keep some members coming back.

Tonight is going to be fun, a 700+ piece truck with one less person than usual. Usually, the truck is 500 - 600 pieces.

I don't necessarily do New Year's resolutions, but I'd like to keep building up my bank account for future funds. That's a little tough to do when you only work part-time and have bills, gas, food/drink, etc. to pay for. I could try looking for a second job, but I'm pretty clueless about what type of job that could be since I've only ever been in the retail and food industry. I used DoorDash to make some extra bucks, but after getting close to being in wrecks a few times, I've felt safer doing away with that due to the crazy traffic in our town.
  23. IRC

I used IRC in the days of Zathyus Networks and a little afterward because it was the only way to get in touch with a long-time friend. She downloaded Discord after I suggested it to her and we both use that to contact each other. I'm only a part of 4 different servers at this time.

The traffic in our town was terrible when I wanted to make a quick run into town. I did see one wreck, but it wasn't on the main highway that I was on. Our town's primary highway usually always has a lot of traffic, but it seemed worse today.
