How Big is Your Social Media Community
About 1000 on twitter and 500 followers on Linkedin. I don't use other social media platforms much these days, so my community is kinda limited.

How is your Drop Shipping service going so far?
Tried drop shipping some time ago and gave up on it because I had other things going on. I also think I got in at the wrong time because there was too much competition at the time. However I am seeing people see great success with it on tiktok and Instagram. I want to get back to it, but I am mainly focused on an affiliate business I am working on

Google will begin flagging AI-generated images in Search later this year
This is great for numerous reasons. Scams come to the top of my mind, but this move will also.allownactual photographers and designers to thrive again. It may take time but things will start looking up for them soon.

How do you handle user data?
We use encryption on transit and at rest for all user data. Then zero trust protocols for server and backend access . We also have encrypted backups for everything in case we need to destroy and rebuild everything . At the end of the day, it's about good data handling practices, never trusting user input, and monitoring your systems to catch issues as early as possible before they become catastrophes. I would also say store your backups in spaces not directly tied to your main server. Not doing this means a compromise on one server, link, node, whatever could lead to a compromise of the whole infrastructure.

What measures do you take to prevent DDOS attacks?
I use use Cloudflare's DDOS protection for client websites. They have some of the best security on the market and will alert you if you are seeing issues on your website. They are also used by the biggest sites and platforms in the world, which shows they are an excellent if not the best solution for DDOS attacks Here's a link for anyone interested https://www.cloudflare.com/ddos/

Dark or light mode?
There is a lot of discussion online about this topic and people seen to be divided. For me, I am dark mode everything on my phone, computer and IDE. The only time I go light mode is if I am working on a website that requires me to see both versions or when a website or app implements dark mode so badly that I have to use light mode. Maybe being a night owl factors into that decision 😅. So, let's settle this once and for all, which side are you on and which is better, dark mode or the light mode?

New evidence claims Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon could be listening to you on your devices
The only problem is that 99.99% of people give up those rights and their privacy when they agree to the terms and conditions when signing up or agree to new ones when they are updated without reading them.

What's the meaning of your username?
Mine is boring; just my first and last name. I also use it on many sites so it's easier to remember if I keep only one.

Keyword Research: Before Writing or After Writing
Both. I mostly research before writing, but I can pause to do additional research when writing and some more after I am done to better align the content with the preferred SEO outcome.
-
Do you research before you start writing?
It depends. If it is a topic I know a lot about or that I have worked on recently, I do not need to research. However I do light to heavy research depending on recency and how often the domain I am writing in changes. For example, I cannot guarantee something I said in a tech article two weeks ago would be accurate today because that industry changes so fast. However, I can be fairly certain that what I said in a health or law article will likely be accurate a year from now

Do you have someone else proofread your work before you publish it?
I proof and edit my work myself. However, I have let an editor. Heck my work before submitting. Sometimes I get compost in the work that I miss some things that are painfully obvious to other people. Things like repeating phrases or wording sentences in a weird way. I mostly catch those, but an editor sometimes can catch more than you think

Have you ever had your work rejected by a client?
Not rejection but heavy edits. Sometimes the voice does not match or you do not capture what the client wants to say exactly how they want to say it. To avoid this, I advise getting as deep as you can during the initiql discussion. Understand what they need and ensure they do too. That is the only way to avoid issues with your clients and submitted work.

Laravel raises $57 million from Accel
Many developers have said they their employers or clients have not switched over to Laravel because they do not think it's a serious framework or that "php" sucks. Perhaps this investment will get Laravel the respect and recognition it deserves, which would only mean the demand for Laravel devs will go up.

How do you stay motivated while coding?
Celebrating small wins. A sense of accomplishment, no matter how small the accomplishment, can keep you motivated. It can also make coding feel more fulfilling, make you feel you have a purpose, and puts you in the mental state you are achieving something instead of typing away. Some of these small wins can be completing or shipping a feature, getting a test to pass, or solving a nagging bug. Whatever it is, celebrate the wins whenever and wherever you can get them

Are You a Full-Time vs. Part-Time Freelancer?
I am a full time freelancer. I have never been part time because I jumped into this type of work when i had no choice but to make it work. Is it challenging sometimes? Yes, it is. But I would not change anything about my work right now

How to Transition from a Full-Time Job to Freelancing
I would also say that you should not make the full transition until you have locked in a least one solid freelance client. You do not want to leave your job only to find that you are now out of work and your savings are dwindling without knowing when the next payment will come

Hey Kat. Welcome to the community. I hope you have a great time!

Do you always maintain delivering on your expected time of delivery?
I always deliver on time, but I have a code for that. I always overestimate the time I need by 25%. Say I need three hours to finish something, I will say I need four. This does two things. It gives me enough time to deliver the best products and services, and it impresses the client if I am able to a "four-hour" job in three hours. However, this is for project based work. For hourly work, I try to be as accurate as possible with the estimates and deliver on time because not doing this soils relationships.

New evidence claims Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon could be listening to you on your devices
These companies and their representatives gas lit us into thinking we were crazy and conspiracy theorists for suggesting they were listening to us. Then it turns out they were all along! I cannot say I am surprised they have been doing this because social media companies are inherently evil according to me, I am just surprised it has taken this long for a high-level executive or company to come out and say it.

Reddit CEO hints that subreddit paywalls are on the way
What is wrong with these people? Haven't they seen what has happened to news sites with paywalled content? I am not saying Reddit might suffer revenue loss if it does this, but the past is a huge indicator it might.

What is the most interesting personal project you are building right now?
As a developer, building projects is one of the best ways to stay sharp, learn new skills and technology, and building projects to add to your portfolio if you are looking for work. Many developers work on personal projects, some fun and some they never finish (trust me, there are endless memes on this). I have been building something simple; a tool that takes a piece of text and then replaces specific words in it (keywords) with specific links. You can then copy the raw HTML and dump it into any CMS and have that text already have the links included. I know text editors and word processors can do something similar, but they mess up the text when you copy it due to the format they use. Also, you have to find the keywords and then turn them into links using something like CTRL+K and have to do the same for each word or keyword you want to replace. It's a simple project, but I have use cases for it and love how simple it makes replacing multiple/numerous keywords at once with links. So, are you working on any personal projects? Let's see them below!
