  1. Clients can be a pain the backside, but they pay us our salaries or side hustle cash. So we need to treat them with the upmost respect. When it comes to Visual Design & UX How do you handle tight deadlines from a client, is there a way you prioritise workload?
  2. Has anyone taken a coding course at college or university after school? What are or were you hoping to achieve by taking the qualification? Was there a job offer in the pipeline if you passed? Some would say it would be a waste of time and money unless you financially benefit from it later on in life. A lot of people take niche qualifications but don’t pursue the career.
  3. Adobe Dreamweaver is a relatively old software and there’s probably more suitable alternatives for website development, but who uses it or has used it? What did you think of the software. Is it worth the price tag?
  4. Let’s be honest, the biggest challenge that we face is being motivated to write posts, articles or comment on social media. Even if we enjoy the subject we are writing about. At what time of day are you most motivated? For me, it’s evening time. Mornings are too much for me 🤣

Before writing a topic, article or comment on social media do you draft it out? Either hand written or by a word processing application? This allows you to proof read for any errors or mistakes you may have made. Who follows this concept?

Hi 👋 Even though my name is Bizdustry, this is my online name. But, my real identity is Alexander, but just refer to me as Alex. Look forward to meeting you all around the forum!
  7. Yes, I do write scripts. Writing scripts, without making it obvious your reading from one in a video can help prevent stuttering in your video and increase engagement to viewers. It takes a lot of effort and time otherwise, with multiple shoots to find the right video clip. Get it right the first time with a script will save you time
  8. There’s no magic pill that will improve your writing skill set. Just practice, practice and PRACTICE! The more you write, proof read your work, and read other publications the better your skill set will be.
  9. Well, ultimately it depends on the customer wants. But using AI to write content can negatively impact your search engine results, and create a robotic tune to your readers. So while it’s quicker it may be in your interest to write it yourself
  10. Yes, I use Microsoft Word. I draft my articles first in Microsoft Word and once I am happy with everything I will transfer this to the platform. I will keep a copy of the article saved on my computer in case of any technical issues too.
  11. I do enjoy writing about technology, business and electric vehicles/ bicycles. These would probably my preferred / favourite niches, but I am more than comfortable to write outside this remit. It depends on what the customer wants
  12. Yes, I do. This is because writing about a topic that interests me means I can go into depth with my writing pieces without doing any research. And the best part? It makes writing enjoyable and I can share my personal experiences
  13. Yes, I do research. I research on topics that I am unsure about. A little bit of topic research can help you write your own unique article without copying what others have already wrote.
  14. What makes a blog interesting is that if the blog posts are written with a genuine interest in the subject matter. However, if they are written for the sake of it, it doesn’t really engage the reader. And the blog should do something that sets it aside from other similar competitors.
  15. One biggest tip I have is to read, read and READ back your work before submitting it. Just by reading it back you’ll see any grammatical errors, or parts that don’t make sense so these can be corrected now rather than later or aftermath.
  16. Yes, I use Grammarly to assist with my writing skill set. I only use this tool on my desktop as I have the browser extension. Grammarly helps correct any small grammar mistakes I may have made!
  17. Best way to prevent burnout as a freelancer is to take regular breaks from your duties, make time for yourself, and enjoy what you do! Burn outs aren’t great as they increase stress load, prevent you from working, and have negative effects on your health.

I do offer refunds. But, it’s on an individual basis so for example, I can’t deliver the service on time, the quality is up to standard, or the customer makes an unfounded complaint but I honour a refund anyway to try and keep continued business, even if I disagree with it.
  19. I think payment after job completion is the best option from a buyers point of view, as it offers them protection. But as a seller, you have to be wary of people not paying after they receive the service so it may be worth trying to ask them to pay half upfront and the remainder on completion.
  20. I’ve been a freelancer since the start of my teenage years. Of course now I’m older my English skill set is a lot better, which increases my employability as a freelancer due to the quality of my writing. As time goes on, my experience and portfolio will grow
  21. No, I haven’t used a billboard. I think most offline advertising methods are becoming obsolete nowadays. Most forms of marketing are done online, some free and majority of them are paid.
  22. Yes, I take communication outside of the freelancer website. It’s just easier to communicate on a platform I regularly use such as WhatsApp or Discord. On the flip side if you communicate by the platform you are covered if anything goes wrong
  23. Easiest way to reach out to potential clients is to send them the message first. If you have a portfolio or a contact list of your current customer base offer a discount for referring new customers to you. This would help you bring potential buyers!
  24. Getting a loan is good but you have to be careful of high APR interest rates. Sometimes the APR can be so high, that’s it’s worth saving the loan repayments yourself and starting the business in a few months time. It depends on your circumstances
  25. Easiest way to source funds for a business is to save a percentage of your income from your salary, and put this towards your early start up fund. This is the best way to source funds. Otherwise you’ll need to take a loan
