? My name is Alexander, but I go by Alex. Look forward to getting to meet you all on here. I live in the UK.
2. Easiest way to find your freelance niche is by doing something you have a passion for and enjoy doing. If you don’t enjoy it or have a passion then it’s pointless doing it just to earn money. This would be my advice to prospective freelancers trying to find their niche
3. Managing stress as a freelancer is crucial to avoid burn outs. I’d recommend to anyone to take regular breaks away from screens, going for walks, exercising, etc. I would further suggest, if appropriate to the circumstances to temporarily hold on accepting new orders until your current workload is complete.
4. I generally try to respond within 24 hours. Even if I’ve read the message it may not be appropriate to action a response straight away due to prioritising workload. It’s finding the balance and ensuring you don’t keep them waiting for an unnecessary timeframe.
5. Creating a personal brand can be really powerful for your future work. A brand name that is unique can be remembered by your clients and when someone recommends you, they recommend the brand name which is probably easier to remember than your contact details. Just make sure you have contact details set up for the brand name.

Taxes will vary country to country, but generally speaking as a self employed Indian you are needed to declare your income to the authorities yourself. Intentional inaccuracy may result in fees, fines or even prosecution in some cases. In the UK, we are allowed to earn up to £1000 before the need to declare the income to HMRC.
7. I have over 50 backlinks on Ahrefs with over 25% of them being dofollow. Ahrefs is a great free tool to check your backlinks and your competitors authority. Ensuring you maintain a strong SEO signal is crucial to receiving passive organic traffic through the search engines.
8. I have nearly 11,000 subscribed on my YouTube channel and over 20,000 members on my website. It’s not the largest, but it’s certainly not the lowest either. I would love to be in a position where these two combined brings in passive advertisement revenue but one step at a time!
9. I think I mentioned in one of my other posts how good shorts are. Shorts, more commonly known as reels are a fantastic way to engage viewers. Most people will only watch the first 10-15 seconds of a video, especially the younger generation before getting bored! So this is your chance to grab their attention.
10. I haven’t started a successful blog in the last year. But I own a forum with an integrated blog that is somewhat successful. I also actively wrote a lot of articles for other website owners as a way to make some extra side income.
11. I find that the best platforms to promote on are Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, and like minded bulletin boards. With social media platforms a massive trend to engage viewers within the first 10-15 seconds is reels. Creating reels really helps drag people into your project.
12. AI may pose a big problem to the industry. If you can ask AI to write a piece of code to do something, why would the customer pay someone 50-100$ an hour to do it, when they can get AI to do it for a fraction of the price? Right now we don’t have to worry but there may be a change in how coding works in the future
13. I ended up getting into web development as I was wanting to develop a website in my teenage years. So I studied during school and self taught myself to enable me to pursue this hobby. And we all learn everyday and become more fluent at what we do.
14. Best way in my opinion if you have the finances is to attend a college or university course where you can be tutored and guided. If you don’t have the budget, learning at home is just as good. Focus on interactive YouTube videos, articles and interactive content. Remember practise makes perfect! 👌
15. A mixture really. Mostly self taught myself from YouTube tutorials and written guides. Although I had the majority of learning through school when we were practising on Dreamweaver and Notepad++. It took a lot of time but once I had this knowledge it allowed me to go onto the next coding language. It’s really like learning a different language.
