Forums Aren't Dying - They Just Need a Purpose
Not sure I would describe this community as "vibrant" ...it seems to be rather inactive, only receiving a hand full of posts (or less) each day.

Forums Aren't Dying - They Just Need a Purpose
Forums are dying and really don't have a purpose in 2025, & beyond. I still like them though.

If you weren't into forums...
I have scaled back my activity on forums and sold the forum I was running because I am too busy doing other things. I work full time, I spend time with my daughter and my partner, I have two dogs who I spend a lot of time with (we go on long walks almost every day), I go to the gym, I go the movie theater all the time (I have an unlimited pass to my local one), I have quite a few TV shows that I am following. Sometimes I play video games. I like to cook and meal prep. The list goes on and on.

Members That Always Complain
Giving opportunities to improve their behavior is always the best way to go.

Does your host admit it when your site gets DDoSd?
My old forum was DDoS'ed a few times. Host would acknowledge it and recommend things to help, like using cloudflare, etc. Why would they act like it didn't happen? Also if you were a constant target of DDoS'ing, I would assume they'd terminate your account eventually because you are a liability and having you around is hurting their business operations. Moral of the story, run your forum fairly and try to be on good terms with everyone. Don't go out there making enemies and pissing people off. :P

Sacking of staff
Inactivity is the main reason staff members were removed when I ran a forum. Sometimes they took it fine and continued to be a contributing member when they had the free time to come make some posts. Other ones would become enraged and lash out publicly or just delete all their profile info / signature / avatar and never return.

What would the warning be? Stop voicing your concerns and opinions or else? Lol :P

Do your forum members use mobile?
When I am really in the mood to do some posting I have to be on a computer with a keyboard. I have good typing skills and can churn out posts WAY faster with a keyboard than tapping on a phone screen. I'll get on a forum with my phone but I am probably just going to keep my posts short, hi/bye type of posts.
