EVGA closes its official forums and transitions to Reddit
Yeah, it does sadden me... while Reddit is one of the least bad social media platforms IMO, it just can't replace a good old forum. I consider it to be essentially the fastfood version of a forum - with an added upvote/downvote mechanic that turns subreddits into echo chambers. I guess it's cheaper than running and hosting a forum (and they don't have to worry about legal headaches), but I can't imagine the results will be as good.

Favorite aspect of running an online community?
For me, it's all the lovely people I meet and make friends with - and in a much cosier community environment than I'll ever find on social media! Learning new things, from people who are passionate about the subjects they're talking about, is another aspect I enjoy.
