The very first one was Bravenet. But literally nobody used it other than me (and I only made two posts on it) - so, it didn't last very long. I then switched to Aimoo - but, even in 2004, that looked very dated, so that only lasted about three months, before I switched to InvisionFree.

Well, I'm fairly happy with the classic forum format: it's what I've been using for 20+ years, so it's second nature to me. But I appreciate that someone who doesn't have that experience might find it overwhelming or clunky, especially compared to social media platforms (which, by contrast, I find to be so minimalistic and stripped-down as to be barren and uninviting... I guess it's impossible to please everyone!) I would like to see people innovating and trying new things with forums. Maybe there's some happy medium that isn't overwhelming to newer users, but still feels reasonably intuitive to older people like me!

Planning to do my risk assessment this weekend. I've already had a look at the requirements, and I have a rough idea of what I'm going to say... just need to put pen to paper. It's annoying - but once that's done, I believe all I have to do is to continue what I've been doing for the past 15 years anyway :P .
