I use phpBB now and love it. However, it doesn't have as many add-ons as MyBB, but because MyBB's alert system has become a problem, I decided to go with phpBB. MyBB seems to have all the major mods that XenForo has.

If I had a commercial website, which I don't at the moment, I wouldn't want to use ads. People don't really like ads. They might tolerate them, but they don't really like them. Instead, I would want to make some sort of classified service. Anyway, another thing coming against ads is ad blockers and you'd have to ask people to remove them, and they would find that even extra annoying.

I think it's a major restriction on their freedom. However, though, I think strong passwords are a must for the admin to prevent hacking. Anyway, I would say strong passwords are good for users, but it's not my loss if they don't use them. It could be their loss.

I'm nostalgic about my high school days or even simpler times in the 2010s. Lately, things have gotten too complicated, and things have gotten too hard (not to sound whiny). I was a bit spoiled back then, but they were good times.
