  1. People probably access more sites via social media and then bookmark them. In that case, the .com isn't needed as much. I could be wrong.
  2. I purchased GoodNews.ink for a theology website. Gospel is translated as "good news" in the bible. I was inspired by a religious school that had the same name on another extension.

Yahoo groups were fun. They are no more. Who remembers them?
  4. Yeah, it's all about the effort put in. The free software can be as good or better than premium, assuming what DIY (Do-It-Yourself) work is put in,

Patrick is a good one, but no Irish heritage so I don't know what the point of it was.
  6. What are some other things to look at, in more detail?
  7. That would be the case when considering you're not getting a blog or gallery for the starting price.
  8. It would be a killer deal for someone not wanting a blog or gallery. I mean, to get the forum alone for XenForo, you're dishing out nearly $200.
  9. It seems like ProBoards is the best, regarding software of that type that cannot also be self-hosted.

I use phpBB now and love it. However, it doesn't have as many add-ons as MyBB, but because MyBB's alert system has become a problem, I decided to go with phpBB. MyBB seems to have all the major mods that XenForo has.
  11. I think AI is good to remove writer's block, but you need to put in some of your own ideas to keep originality, otherwise, you're just using a machine. For instance, why not make a line or two regarding your own opinion on things?
  12. If I had a commercial website, which I don't at the moment, I wouldn't want to use ads. People don't really like ads. They might tolerate them, but they don't really like them. Instead, I would want to make some sort of classified service. Anyway, another thing coming against ads is ad blockers and you'd have to ask people to remove them, and they would find that even extra annoying.

I've always been interested in theology, and I wanted to express my knowledge on a website and also, it's a good place to spread the faith. Lately, I am finding that I have too many websites, so I want to concentrate on one site and make it mult-faceted, but not commercial, because it's wrong to mix that with my faith.
  14. I think it's a major restriction on their freedom. However, though, I think strong passwords are a must for the admin to prevent hacking. Anyway, I would say strong passwords are good for users, but it's not my loss if they don't use them. It could be their loss.

I'm nostalgic about my high school days or even simpler times in the 2010s. Lately, things have gotten too complicated, and things have gotten too hard (not to sound whiny). I was a bit spoiled back then, but they were good times.
