Should Brands Have a Sense of Humor Online?
Some niches, like insurance, are incredibly boring 🤔 In that case, you might see a lot of humor in their commercials because people are sick of the same standard sales pitches from this boring stuff. Well, with insurance, you see the duck on Aflack, the mean teacher from the movie Whiplash, the lizard for Geicko, stuff like that.

What is the Psychological Factors Behind Forum Participation
Some people are incredibly interested in certain niches. They are good targets to become regular members, people posting for free, not for pay or a posting exchange. Anyway, though, because social media is such a threat, it's tougher to even get those people.

Do you ever look for web hosting deals?
I was interested in Hostinger a few times, but I've never gotten their yearly deals. Anyway, they look like good deals, assuming you don't need fancy luxuries.

Turning Forum Content Into Shareable Assets for Social Media Marketing
Definitely you can create shareable content by creating good content. There has to be a strong effort to create quality. I mean, how else can you say it?

Paying for hosting monthly or yearly?
Well, it depends on the company. Some big well-known ones like Go Daddy or Hostinger aren't going away tomorrow.

How did you find us?
I didn't know that. That's interesting. I do know Forum Promotion has switched hands a few times.

Private vs. Public Forum: Which One is Better
Yeah, but you got to have something serious to offer to get anyone to pay. 😃 It's not that easy. As I said, you'd have to be some "proven" SEO guru or something.

Ways to Fund Your Online Business
Loans, general loans to be specific, might be easier for people than you think. I had bad credit and got two loans, one for $750 and another for $1000. Anyway, though, banks can still be tough without perfect credit and I don't know how I got those loans (from loan companies, not banks). Note: You do need a good source of income at the least. I have SSI and a new fast food job.

How did you find us?
The owner also owns admin-junkies. I stumbled on to this site from his other one. Anyway, I find the place very interesting. @Cedric seems very enthusiastic and committed to his projects.

Meta's platforms showed hundreds of "nudify" deepfake ads, CBS News investigation finds
I can understand the outrage against this. It's because it's a breeding ground for lawsuits. No company wants to be associated with lawsuits. That' a no-brainier.

How Do You Improve User Engagement
One example of engagement is hosting forums. A strong hosting forum is a hub for people wanting hosting. Well, that's what you want. You want your site to be a hub for some niche. In that case, it makes it good ground for monetization via ads (works for some niches), classified sites, upgrades, etc. The monetization of hosting forums is via ads and classifieds usually. Tons of hosting companies post ads everyday.

How to Handle Toxic Users Without Hurting Forum Engagement
I can't tolerate abusive people. They have to be banned. It's not about being thin-skinned, though, because there's a difference between people with disagreements and abuse by psychos.

How to Monetize a Forum Without Alienating Users
The less ads the better and ads work better on some niches (like employment) than others. Myself, I don't like ads outside of certain niches like employment. Ads are something most users dislike (I think that's the case.), so I don't want to be on their bad side. One Exception: Most users on employment sites probably like ads from experience.

Optimizing Your Forum for Mobile Users: Ensuring Accessibility Across Devices
I simply don't use forum or blog software that isn't mobile ready by default or via a theme. Anyway, my current software choices: WordPress and phpBB are mobile ready by default. Note: MyBB might be the only or very last of software that is not mobile ready by default, but that can be changed easily with a free or paid theme.

Do You Have a Code of Conduct Beyond Rules?
I don't have a real strong set of rules on my forums. The main thing said is that disrespect toward staff and members is not allowed. Anyway, though, I need to add a part on commercial spam. I don't want that either.
-
Would you donate to a forum?
I would donate to some forum just to be a pal, a good guy. However, I am living paycheck to paycheck. It's very tough. Anyway, though, I really want to donate to forum mods (as in modifications). For instance, MyBB has been stoked with problems lately that money could fix.

What was the first free hosting provider or free website provider that you’ve ever used?
It was some ad-supported thing called 50g (I think. I'm not sure.). It was around 2005 maybe and so I can't remember much about it, only that I uploaded HTML code (It wasn't a blog or forum.). It was a guitar lesson site that I made.

Creating Exclusive Content to Reward Active Forum Members
The problem with exclusive content is that you need to establish it as something worth buying. For instance, in another thread, I gave the example of the famous SEO guy. If you're some famous SEO guy, you would have no problem selling exclusive content. The only barrier would be the money required to reach people.

Is phpBB too hard to update?
Getting people to update it for you can be costly. It costs so much, it makes it worth it to get a premium software maybe.

Whois protection: yay or nay?
If you're running a political or religious forum it might be a good idea, because those topics bring out the bad side in many people. Well, look at the recent murder in Minnesota, for instance. Anyway, another reason for whois protection is because people spam you about your domain. That can be annoying.

Paying for hosting monthly or yearly?
I might get discounts paying yearly, but my situation has been paycheck to paycheck, so I always pay monthly. Well, I suppose I could budget things to do yearly, but I haven't made the time.
-
Paying for posting
Paid posting can be a great idea. However, I prefer paid posting for the long haul. I want them around 2 years, honestly, doing the same thing. Anyway, I can't afford that at the moment, but that's the ideal situation.

The Decline of Forum Activity in the Social Media Era
I don't know if I really agree. People like social media because they are the "Wal Mart of online community". Well, what I mean is that they simply provide a big place where everybody knows about. Note: For those outside the US, Wal Mart is a big chain store that is everywhere in the US, like McDonald's, and has everything seemingly there.
-
Ads on forums
I don't like them unless they are on sites where people "visit primarily for the ads". Well, one such niche is employment. I ran some employment sites and they worked for that reason. Note: an alternative I like for ads is paid classifieds, upgrades, stuff like that.

How Do You Build a Community?
A lot of this can be done via an enthusiastic owner, but a lot has to be paid because people lack the time these days. Well, there are people who do stuff for nothing, but they all moved to social media.
