How many threads do you need to make on a daily basis?
As community leaders, we all want to see our forums active and growing, it's addictive! But it takes effort to get there—especially in the early stages. So, how many threads should you be creating each day to keep the momentum going? Personally, I try to create 3-5 or more threads per day. Why? Because it’s important to lead by example. You can’t just count on your members to generate activity on their own. Fresh content keeps things interesting and gives members something to engage with, which can encourage them to start threads of their own. A few questions to consider: How many threads do you make daily to keep your community active? What strategies do you use to come up with new topics? Do you think focusing on quantity or quality has a bigger impact on engagement? How do you balance creating threads without overwhelming your members? Would you consider using fake accounts to create threads ? Share your approach and tips for keeping your forum active, and let’s discuss the best ways to keep the conversation going!

Wordpress VS WP Engine
Agreed. It's ridiculous and he's power hungry. I hope in court these wrongfully acquisitions are being penalized and brought back to their original developer. But what I hope the most, is that other developers take notes and know this can happen to them as well. So in that regards, maybe we'll see a new CMS rising soon.

When is it appropriate to send a mass email to your members?
I personally haven't found any problem with XenForo's mass email, other than the lack of customization. I had to edit templates to add a logo since for conversation emails, it doesn't add one. Other than that, I wished we would have way more customization possibilities than what we have now. But it works, I guess.

Plagiarism AI Generated Content?
AI generated articles are not punished if it's "original" content. But what's original these days? A piece of opinion is mostly original, but it's probably already posted or publicized somewhere else. So it's extremely difficult to find original content. And I'll be the first to admit that I use AI in my articles. I often write stuff very chaotic and ask ChatGPT to polish my "editorial" into a nice article. That's what it's brilliant for. English isn't my native language, so this helps me make it clear for many that want to read my opinion or tips. In the beginning I did just blatantly copy and paste the text it generated. Nowadays I give it some text to polish it all while still being true to the context. So it can be used to generate text, but do it wisely. But to come back to your topic, yes it may seem original and sometimes you won't even be able to tell. But if you ask ChatGPT to generate a text for you, then you'll most likely be able to tell it's generated since it often uses the same repetitive words and sentences.

Is Discord a good way to grow your forum community?
While that may be a good point, I’m a big fan of offtopic posts. Which you could class silly banter under. Off topic posts usually make a community stronger, and let that bonding be an important factor since the strength of a community creates or breaks a community.

Only 39 days until Christmas
Yeah they surely grow up too fast. Mine’s only 7 yet acts 17 sometimes. 🤣 make up, clothing, nails, the whole nine yards. Even talks about boys. 🫣 I’m not ready for that! My wife was maturely like that at the age of 13, God help me…

So true. Ever since I got my first child, time does fly. It’s like I celebrated NYE yesterday and it’s almost that time again. Damn.

The Share an Admin Mistake Thread: What Did You Learn?
Being an admin comes with its share of challenges, and we've all made mistakes along the way, and probably will still make mistakes in the future. Whether it’s a misstep in managing members, setting up the community, or overlooking something important, these experiences are an important part of the learning process. So let’s help each other out! :D Share a mistake you made as an admin and what you learned from it. This way, we can all grow as community leaders and avoid those common pitfalls. A few ideas to get you started: Did you overlook something critical in your forum setup? Have you had a membership or moderation mishap that didn’t go as planned? How did your community respond, and what steps did you take to fix things? What advice would you give to a brand-new admin to avoid the same issues? Let’s swap stories and advice so that we can build stronger, smarter communities together!

Incentives For Posting
No, that's correct. DragonByte's add on is far more extended in features. But it's easier to develop add ons for XF compared to Invision Community. And now that v5 is on the way, it's even less easy to develop applications, since hooks are gone in v5.
-
Incentives For Posting
Well, unless someone takes over or develops a new one, v5 won't have it either sadly.

What would you do differently when starting your community up again?
Every time I start a community, I dive deeper into customization, development, coding, and everything in between. With each new project, I learn something more on the technical side. Community management, on the other hand, tends to follow familiar patterns, but now and then, I pick up a new insight that proves useful. I’m not without my flaws, and I’ll be the first to admit it. But I’ve learned that this work requires dedication. You have to be passionate, or you might struggle to keep going. It’s not easy, and every day brings its own set of challenges. What makes the difference is surrounding yourself with the right people, seeking support, and pushing beyond your comfort zone. Ultimately, it’s the daily grind and persistence that keep things moving forward.

How much longer can Facebook stay relevant?
Well yes, you need to be more careful. But their UIX is great, I love it.

Is Discord a good way to grow your forum community?
I have no intention for Administrata to have a Discord. The only thing we have on Discord is a staff channel for some quick updates, questions, discussions, etc.

Invision Community v5 enters Beta
Agreed. It’s a cool setup, but obviously not ideal for many forums. There should be an option to mix the content listing.

Is Discord a good way to grow your forum community?
It’s great to have an additional platform next to your community, as long as its focus doesn’t switch to Discord. The moment more engagement is done there, is the moment you lose your forum.

How much longer can Facebook stay relevant?
I completely agree. It's shocking how often you encounter really toxic comments on Facebook, especially towards people seeking advice or help. It seems like some people never face any consequences for their behavior and continue to be as toxic as ever. It's as if this kind of negativity is becoming normalized, with more and more people joining in and making it worse. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if Facebook disappeared, as long as I could retrieve my photos before it does. As for Messenger, there are definitely better alternatives like WhatsApp and Telegram, though both of those have their downsides too.
