Forums are not as popular as they once were.
A bit out of context. But still wanted to share this. Social media has absolutely destroyed us as a generation. People cheat, no one can settle for what they have, always looking elsewhere, craving attention, always thinking other people look or have it better, people act like they’re something they’re not. People need to put their phones down and focus on what’s in front of them, because some people don’t realise how lucky they are to have what they have. We should stop giving people the attention we shouldn’t be giving them and focus on the ones. Appreciate what you have before it becomes what you had. [ATTACH type=full" size="1079x1006]369[/ATTACH]

While we make it a point not to look through private messages—it’s none of our business, and we're adult enough not to abuse it—there are certain cases when we may need to, particularly if a member reports a violation. Our Terms of Service make it clear: “Private Message (PM) Advertising: Unsolicited advertising through private messages is not allowed. However, if you have an ongoing conversation, an agreement, or explicit permission, it is acceptable. We reserve the right to review private messages if a member reports a breach of these terms.” Source: Terms of Service We’ve been transparent about this from the start to ensure everyone knows what to expect. But ultimately, if you truly need privacy, email or another private channel is always a safer option, as it’s completely outside our platform’s reach.

How do you define growth
I remember those early days when we first launched the forum and saw an amazing 300-500 posts daily. Before long, we even reached over a thousand posts a day or more. Admittedly, the quality of the posts back then wasn’t what it is now, but there was a unique excitement and energy that made those times memorable. While achieving that level of activity is still possible - though definitely more challenging, especially in certain niches - the landscape has changed significantly. These days, it's clear that quality over quantity has become the priority. A smaller number of thoughtful, engaging posts can do more to strengthen a community than sheer volume ever could. So yes, growth isn’t just about high numbers of posts or members. Real progress is seen in the quality of activity and meaningful member engagement.

Sidebars - Yes or No?
See, this is what I've been saying for a long time. Let people decide what they want to show. Bring more customization for the member. No side bar? Ok, toggle them off. Want to have a sidebar but only partial widgets? Great, let them drag and drop or whatever is possible. But we shouldn't assume people like everything the way we do.

Is there a particular part of forum building that excites you?
Ah, forum building is something I genuinely find exciting, or I wouldn't be here for so long. There's an incredible satisfaction in taking an idea from concept to creation, launching it, and then actively promoting it to reach people who genuinely benefit from it. Watching the member count grow isn’t just a numbers game for me. It's a tangible sign that a community is forming and that people find value in the space. One of the most rewarding aspects is establishing a supportive, engaged community. It’s thrilling to see members actively interacting, sharing knowledge, and building connections. As the community grows, it develops its own unique identity, and being part of that process I find amazing. Plus, periodically adding new features or rolling out a fresh theme keeps the forum dynamic and exciting. They don't only enhance the forum’s look and feel but also keep members engaged imo, giving them something new to look forward to and explore. Hosting events is another highlight for me. Organizing activities, giveaways or discussions that directly benefit the members adds real value to their experience.. Each of these elements - creating, launching, growing, and evolving the forum - are pieces of a larger goal: to build a vibrant, welcoming space where people feel valued and supported. That’s what keeps me motivated.

Finished the campaign in a couple of hours sadly. Wish it would be a bit longer. There’s some creepy parts in it though. Especially with the scary dolls in the lab. Played a few rounds zombies too. Got to 33 with just a random guy. And multiplayer, got to level 54.
