1. Thanks for sharing that. Seems like it was a good community and it's a pity the owner let it die. What was the offer if you remember? I do agree on the paid advertising, it's not worth it. Would be even less worthy today.

There is of course room for improvement. We wanted to keep everything as simple as possible when we first launched. That was a bit longer than a month ago. And I must say, sometimes I often have to rethink which category I'll put my thread in. So, a general web discussion is definitely not a bad idea. I do agree with this. We appreciate your ideas and thoughts, and encourage others to participate in this. I'll probably come with a solution to expand our layout and nodes in a couple of days.

Keep us updated man, looking forward to hear more. :)
4. It's funny that they've been able to port the 1.9 theme design back to 1.8: Curves UI: https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?action=view&pid=1594 But I must admit, this is rather looking sleek and fine! Curves UX: https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?action=view&pid=1591
5. Ah apologies. Didn't realize BassMan offered these services. 😇
6. Indeed, the first topic in the MyBB 1.9 forum dates all the way back to January 2018. It's probably safe to say that MyBB holds the record for software in development for over six years with little to show for it. Maybe Arantor could give us some insight on that, lol. That said, if they could manage to push out a beta by the end of the year (even if it's a long shot), it might spark some renewed interest. Then again, it's possible the damage has already been done, as many users have moved on to other platforms. Still, it would be interesting to see if a fresh update could shift the tides.
7. While I’ve generally viewed MyBB as something of a legacy system - lacking the innovations and updates that modern platforms require - I recently stumbled across some news that may spark interest among MyBB enthusiasts. It seems that MyBB has rolled out a development version of their long-anticipated 1.9 update a while back. The 1.9 development release isn’t a final product, and MyBB has made it clear that this version isn’t officially supported - But I suppose it's not. However, for those who are curious or simply enjoy a preview of what’s next, you can download and test it for installation purposes. Keep in mind, though, that as a development version, it's likely to come with bugs and missing features that might change before the final release. For MyBB forum owners or those considering MyBB for future projects, this release could be a chance to see where the platform might be headed. It might also be a helpful exercise in understanding what improvements are being planned and where MyBB stands today in relation to its competitors. Although MyBB may still feel a bit outdated compared to some more advanced forum software, the 1.9 release shows they are pushing toward improvements, if slowly. If you're interested in testing this development version, you can visit the official MyBB community forums for more details and a download link: MyBB 1.9 Development Release. Just be cautious about deploying it on a live forum; it’s best suited for testing environments at this stage. Will this update change the perception of MyBB in the forum software space? Only time will tell. For now, 1.9 offers a chance to see what’s brewing behind the scenes.
8. Beta 4 has been released.
9. He’s not looking for XF add ons, nor anything specific XF, but just a designer who can design a template so to speak.
10. Community building can be incredibly rewarding, but it definitely has its challenges. So I wanted to open up a discussion around this: What do you think is the hardest part of building and managing a community? Is it getting new members to join? Keeping everyone engaged and active? Maybe it’s dealing with conflicts or setting up the right structure to keep things running smoothly? Share your experiences! Whether you’re a new admin or have been running a community for years, your insights can really help others who may be facing similar struggles. Let’s talk about what makes community building tough - and, more importantly, how we tackle those challenges! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! :)

Morning everyone. How are you all doing?
14. We do, otherwise we are a dying breed sooner rather than later. The true question here is how. We're all here because we prefer forums over facebook and like. But what we need is insights from people who think the other way around.
15. Standalone, version 10-something. The latest in any case. And in any case, my VPS is a bit over spec'ed for what I need, but I figured, the more space/memory you have, the better.
16. My system has no reboot that I know of. A simple restart usually does the trick though. I just can't figure out why it stops working in the first place. There's no consistency either. Sometimes it takes days, sometimes weeks.

Maybe COD is what you need, Shortie. ;)
18. Contact SarahKik for a theme print design if you’re looking for something more classic to the old VB days, glossy, modern, nothing flat at all.
19. So you enjoyed troubleshooting the installation? 😁

Howdy Allan! Great to see you once more. :) How have you been doing lately? Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like it! ☺️
24. I've got 16gb memory, so I doubt it's due that. And last time I checked, there was nothing in the logs either. It's quite weird.
25. ES is great when it works. It may be my setup (although done correctly, as far as I know) my ES connection fails every undefined amount of time. Then I need to log in, restart the ES and then it works again. Annoying.
