A designer can be likened to the architect becuase they are responsible for designing the layout, and they also choose the colors and materials.

A developer is like the builder. Their work is to take the design and bring it to life. The designers are more focused on the look and feel as well.

I feel like today the roles have become more blurred with each having to know more about the others.

They are still separate: A designer takes care of this, and a developer takes care of that. But each role must become more knowledgeable about the other's responsibilities. Maybe more so than in the past.

It's very essential for each role to completely understand their responsibilities. We all need to acknowledge the blurred lines.

It depends, when it comes to web, a designer is in charge of the looks and feel of the web, such as the beautiful templates and the likes. A developer on the other hand is in charge of creating the codes that aakes the site works. Both hhaveto whave tod in hand to get the final product.
