The thread "What are you currently listening to" has more replies than any other on topic on my forum.

What topic is the most active on your forums?

Most of the time, it's off-topic posts.

The "What did you do today?" and "What are you listening to?" types of content. They're just easier for members to respond to.

For niche topics, in order to get more replies, we need to be more engaging and post replies that continue the conversation forward. A lot of folks post answers but don't really post anything to keep it going.

It really should be a goal to make every post a couple of pages long.

It really depends on the subject.

Some topics aren't destined to be long topics without derailing from the original post. Some questions aren't debates. And you can only say so much about a certain subject. So, it's natural to have topics like "what are you listening to?" grow bigger than your core niche discussions. They're easy to reply to.

If those general topics score good, I wouldn't work against them or not encourage them. They're great for generating some activity, community bonding, etc.

The "Community Chat" thread, which is for general chit-chat. It is sitting at 1,400+ replies.

I believe that "how to make money online" is one of the most frequently discussed topics or has the most replies in forums. Many people, especially online freelancers, are looking for ways to earn a living through online work. This is a topic that I am always interested in exploring as well.

This is true. A lot of users are looking for how to make money and once they see a topic where it is being discussed, they will want to share their thoughts there which is very good and nice. I have noticed such topics gaining more views and responses.

My chat thread has the most replies on Gex Forums as well as Thee Zone. It's hard to keep engagement going in the on topic threads on Gex Forums at the moment because the Trilogy was pushed back to next year and there hasn't been a new Gex game in a while. Plus I don't really hear much about a modding community for the games, if I had the time I would dive into modding the games but I have enough projects as it is now. :P
