Japanese mayonnaise is different, so it adds a unique taste. It ain't that Miracle Whip. It's lines of mayonnaise up and down the pizza on top. This type of pizza is usually served in izakayas (timed all-you-can-drink beer restaurants) and not really a chain-style pizza. As for potatoes on pizza outside of izakayas, you'll find potato wedges with cheese and meats.
It's a good taste with the beer.
