Based on the forum software that you use...

What top 3 features are your favorite? Why are they your favorite?

What top 3 features are your least favorite or features you think are useless? Why do you think that about them?

I'm very interested in seeing what you all have to say here.

On first development, I canned tags and prefixes. To me it just adds clutter but I understand it has purpose in forums. Just not mine, yet. I also reduced the sidebar on forum home. I don't want every last link possible on the home page. I want it to be lighter weight and less cluttered. Yes, I hate clutter lol.

My favorite feature is new posts. I set my bookmarks to new posts for all the forums I visit frequently. Don't really have any others.

The features I admire on the Jcink forum software are webpages, the shop, and probably custom profile fields.

I don't believe I have any particular features I think are the "worse" or necessarily bad. I think most forum niches can find a use for some features that not everyone may use.

Hmm. StoryBB is weird in that the features I admire most are so niche that you’d never see them elsewhere.

Most useful/valued: ability to create sub accounts with a bunch of avatars per sub account, ability to group a collection of threads together to form a timeline, ability to export that timeline as an e-book, and the automated “topics I need to reply to” list, Discord notifications

Least useful: unread posts (this is just not how people interact with content, there’s a lot of browsing by timeline, and a lot of revisiting timelines), email notifications and digests, alerts in general (we use Discord notifications infinitely more)

But we are hugely an outlier as a roleplay/collaborative writing group.
