I've recently started helping a company with their video marketing and I'll be honest, it hasn't been the easier for me. Those who know me, know I'm not very techy so creating videos for marketing has been a task to say the least. However, video marketing has become an increasingly popular and effective strategy for businesses and individuals looking to boost engagement, connect with their audience, and drive results. And I think that with the rise of social media platforms and the prevalence of video content consumption, leveraging video marketing can help you stand out and make a lasting impression.

Here are some tips that I have on using video marketing to boost engagement:
- Tell a compelling story: Use video as a storytelling medium to captivate your audience and evoke emotions. Whether you're showcasing your brand's journey, highlighting customer testimonials, or sharing behind-the-scenes footage, storytelling can help create a connection with your viewers and keep them engaged.
- Keep it concise and engaging: Attention spans are shorter than ever, so aim to create videos that are concise, engaging, and to the point. Grab your audience's attention from the start, deliver your message effectively, and maintain a fast-paced and visually appealing format to keep viewers interested. Within seconds people know if the video they are being shown is interesting to them but they also don't typically keep watching a video for long, so keep it short and engaging.
- Optimize for mobile: With the majority of video content being consumed on mobile devices, it's essential to optimize your videos for mobile viewing. Ensure that your videos are mobile-friendly, with clear visuals, legible text, and engaging content that resonates with viewers on the go.
- Encourage interaction: Encourage viewer interaction and engagement by including calls to action (CTAs) in your videos. Whether it's prompting viewers to like, comment, share, or visit your website, CTAs can help drive engagement and encourage viewers to take action after watching your video.
- Utilize different video formats: Experiment with different video formats, such as tutorials, product demos, interviews, live streams, and animations, to keep your content fresh and engaging. Variety in your video content can cater to different audience preferences and help you reach a wider audience.
- Analyze and optimize: Track the performance of your video content using analytics tools provided by social media platforms or video hosting sites. Monitor key metrics like views, engagement, watch time, and conversions to understand what resonates with your audience and optimize your video marketing strategy accordingly. Life is all about adapting, same with this, analyze what you are doing, ask yourself is it working? And then improve where you can.
