BBC News - What is US AID and why is Trump closing it down?
Just been watching my regular dose of news and seen this. Trump has done many things since his inauguration, many that many Americans agree with, many that many in the world agree with in fact. - This has to be one of the worst decisions ever made by any politician in any country in the world. Sorry if I've let my political views come across a little there! (in reality, I don't really follow a political party or identify as left or right wing, but hey)
Surely most right-minded people can see that this is an absolutely terrible idea, and will cause immense pain, suffering and cruelty throughout the developing world?
There's talk that a federal Judge has issued a limited order blocking some aspects of the executive order effectively dismantling the agency. Not sure where that will end up, but seeing as Trump effectively controls the US Supreme Court at the moment, I don't hold out much hope.
What's the thoughts of those of a political persuasion here at Administrata, whether or not you live in the US?
