There's obviously more to it but I spend a lot of time using the STAR interview method to assess behavior in an interview.

My current process is this (in a nutshell):
- Resume/application prescreen to filter in those who would be possible choices
- Make a first contact attempt with email to try to schedule an initial prescreening interview
- (Follow up according to number of candidates/interest/urgency of position)
- Do an initial teams interview to get to know the candidate, their experience, what research they did, etc.
- Send qualified and decent choices over to management to review for a secondary interview on site at the branches.
