Protest for the right needs perseverance

When you need to protest for something right there needs to be perseverance. No country got its independence within a day. After long years of protest did my country India get its Independence. Some even lost their lives. Our national leaders were brave and intelligent enough who had perseverance to free India from the British rule.

So emotional, but what is the lesson here? Perseverance in a protest? What of those who lost their lives? Sometimes its good to know when to back out.
