General Plagiarism AI Generated Content?

With the rise of AI-generated content on the internet, individuals may copy content from one website and post it on another, employing AI to rewrite the article. This raises the question: is such practice plagiarism, or does it result in "original" content? I feel this is a cheap way to get quality content without doing all the work and research. If you proof read and it doesn't come out the way you want it then yeah use AI to re-write your own content.

AI generated articles are not punished if it's "original" content. But what's original these days? A piece of opinion is mostly original, but it's probably already posted or publicized somewhere else. So it's extremely difficult to find original content. And I'll be the first to admit that I use AI in my articles. I often write stuff very chaotic and ask ChatGPT to polish my "editorial" into a nice article. That's what it's brilliant for. English isn't my native language, so this helps me make it clear for many that want to read my opinion or tips.

In the beginning I did just blatantly copy and paste the text it generated. Nowadays I give it some text to polish it all while still being true to the context. So it can be used to generate text, but do it wisely.

But to come back to your topic, yes it may seem original and sometimes you won't even be able to tell. But if you ask ChatGPT to generate a text for you, then you'll most likely be able to tell it's generated since it often uses the same repetitive words and sentences.

Actually there is no such thing as originality, unless you are writing about new events that no one has written about it, everything you write will be a duplicate content. If you do online research to write your content, it is duplicate content. The only difference is who does this, a machine or a human.

I've been experimenting with it. I spruce up the results to make it more in my style of writing. I think it makes adding quality content much easier. The only real problem isn't writing it, it's thinking of a topic.

Hollywood stopped making movies long ago. They're now churning out content as fast as they can. Disney, among other things... Look at how much Star Wars content they've created. Most of it is low quality woke crap. They went from being movie creators, to a content-pooping-machine.

AI can be the same. You may copy and paste it, it will look human enough, but that doesn't mean it will have human qualities.

I do use AI, but I mostly rewrite what it generated, so that it has my style and my touch. I see AI as another tool to help me create stuff. I don't want to rely on it to create stuff for me, to a point I become unable to create myself. That would be sad.

If I can give some advice: when you command it to generate something, add your opinion or experience in it. It's how I find it to be at the best quality AI can get.

I'm always scared that if I copy and paste from ChatGPT that it's plagiarism. I did in the past just copy and paste but I found that boring and like I wasn't really a part of the of the creativity of it.

Now though I do use ChatGPT for help, I always add my personal touches to it and add some text such as a real-life example.

I find it can be easy to just use what ChatGPT says and paste it wherever but it doesn't feel personalized. Sometimes, I'll ask it, based on what you know about my writing style, write this in my style. And it does seem to work for the most part. I still add a few things but it does help.

You have no way to know. It can't cite its sources.

On the other hand, it can make up things that sound good, up to and including things that look like references. For example, if you use ChatGPT to file a lawsuit like some lawyers, be sure to check the precedents it's citing do actually exist...

I think AI is good to remove writer's block, but you need to put in some of your own ideas to keep originality, otherwise, you're just using a machine.

For instance, why not make a line or two regarding your own opinion on things?
