Partners and finances

Is it difficult trying to get partners to split the finances for your site? Do you both budget and then choose what to pay?

I tend to avoid talking finances on projects that I start, they're on my server so I'm paying. If I join a project as a partner I'm open to talking finances, but it's not really happened for me as yet. In terms of EARNING money from a site, I turn it down every time. Even when I was a PTM working on packages, I cashed out once to donate everything I'd earned to a charity event that was running, and then never cashed out again. Forums are a passion for me, so I try not to complicate it with money.
