These days, a lot of website owners and creators out source their social media accounts to managers to run their accounts, so they don’t have to manage their social media accounts on their own.

But do you think it’s worth it or would you rather run your own social media accounts?

I think it may be worth hiring someone to manage your social media accounts if your site is large and you need to focus on the website itself. It'd would be overwhelming if you had to manage a large site and try to manage your social media accounts.

Managing social media effectively can be a full time job. If you have a large enough operation it's worthwhile having someone to manage that for you.

I can't afford to pay someone to manage my social media accounts, so it's worth it for me to do it on my own. I don't mind the grind.

I think that in the beginning of your forum or website you should handle your social media yourself as you may want to use your funds wisely so you don't go broke early on. Once your forum or website is making money that would be a good time to then hire someone.

Social media is definitely something that I need to be more active on as it can be a HUGE tool to get people on your forum/website if done right. I know social media is something that I need to do better at and though I'm going to be handling my social media myself for a while I am excited for the day that I can hire someone as they may have more experience and expertise than I do.

Social media marketing is not just about posting your links, you need to create and share content, network with like minded people and bring in followers, run ads to improve visibility, etc. If you are very good at doing these things and you also have time, you can surely do it yourself. Otherwise, hiring a professional is a better option. Sadly, a lot of people think dumping links on social media sites is social media marketing.
