How to improve Article and post writing skills?

I can honestly admit my Article writing skills are not as good as they should be. Maybe it's creativity or something. I dunno.

I have read a few threads here on the subject and I really like the tools suggested to perfect your writing styles, etc.

But I am curious, aside from whatever niche, how do you guys and gals get to the creative aspects. I never felt comfortable with my abilities and as such, I am curious how you get past writers block or creativity of the Article content. How much is too much, too little. How do you source your original ideas.

I think you get my curiosity on this. I would love to hear your ideas and thoughts.

Whenever I write articles for my websites, I research the topic on a few different websites to get the facts. Or if it's an opinion piece, I type up ideas and then eventually make those ideas into articles. I always type up my articles in Open office writer, it's my text editor of choice. It'll also help me find typos, pretty much every CMS does have built in spell checkers but I'd rather have the article written up in Open Office before I add it to my site. If you don't want to use a text editor, you could also just save your articles as drafts on your website and then publish them whenever you're done. You can also have a second set of eyes proofread your articles for you before you publish them as well.
