My community sees anywhere from 2 to 3 new members each day, give or take. Some jump right in and introduce themselves, while others prefer to stay in the background and lurk.
How about your community? How often do you see new members joining, and do they tend to engage right away or stay quiet? Let’s share our experiences!
Currently the community that I am co-founder of is having a re-launch in December. I'm hoping that after the re-launch we will have about 3 new members a day. I know that's going to include a lot of dedication, maintenance, posts & threads, but I am ready and excited for it. It may take some time, but it'll be worth it.
It varies I've had days where I did promotions and we had 7-8 members join within 24 hours on my forum, it's been taking a month to go from 175 members to 200(198 members ATM). Slowly getting bigger.
I need 9 more members by the end of this month to pass my 52 member registrations in a month record.
It is pretty exciting to see consistent registrations where guests show enough interest to register. I never thought I would see the day when one of my forums generally gains 30+ members monthly.
Not too frequently, and sadly I don't get any voluntary sign ups on my forums. I get new members only when I hire for paid posting, engage on post exchange, sometimes also through a posting package. One of my biggest problems is not being able to get new members to sign up because they actually want to become a part of the community. I am not sure if this has got to do with the open source software I am using.
