Do you own any .community forums?

Do you own any forums with the .community extension?

I started my forum almost a year ago using a .community domain name.

I know that some generic new TLDs had fixed pricing based on keywords, etc., and didn't go by a standard fixed rate as you would see with .com.

Did your forum keyword fall into a premium name designated by the registry? If so, how much was it to secure and what is the renewal cost when compared to other .community domains?

Namecheap has .community at a set price (barring the price gouging that is 'premium') which lists as £28.59, renewing at £30.17 - which will be more sensible in USD.

I see .forum is now more reasonably priced than the 3-figure prices they debuted at, hah.

I do own a .community, that I bought with a particular intent but it hasn't come to pass. Maybe it will in 2025, we shall see.

Its definitely more expensive, but it's worth it for me since I got a 1 keyword domain name specific to what my community/niche is about. It costed me $90 to register my domain. Renewal is about the same, maybe I can get a coupon with Namecheap when it's time for renewal. 😂

Ok, nothing crazy like XYZ did.

Most of their domains were released for $0.99, but they had 5 figure (maybe even 6 and 7) reserved names.

My daughter's first name was reserved by the registry for $4000, but somehow I got my wife's for 99 cents, which I still have to this day.

$90 renewal on a strong keyword like that isn't bad.

Not community, but .forum, I took over and it'll be $40 renewal.
