General Are forums outdated now? Do they still work well for getting feedback and providing answers?

For discussions that don't fit other prefixes.

Are online forums old-fashioned, or do they still have a purpose today? While social media sites are popular for chatting, forums provide organized discussions and focused groups. They allow for detailed conversations and lots of user feedback. Do you think forums help create real connections and answers better than newer options?

I have found that when I need to know something, or I need some info that is fairly rare or totally obscure, forums always seem to be the place that provide answers I need, whether or not I join. I depend on them again and again. I get so lost on the likes of reddit and regular static retail pages are rarely up to date.

Forums are much better for finding answers to questions. They're way more organized than any other platform, chances are if you're looking for a in depth answer to your question you're going to find it on a forum. Reddit is okay, but it's still not as organized as your traditional forum.

I don’t believe forums are outdated. They’re still relevant in today’s internet and are more relevant than ever.

I believe they provide the best source of real connections and friendly environments compared to social media. It’s a lot easier to navigate a forum and find genuine people & information than getting lost on social media.

If the content remains relevant, then so does the forum. If you have outdated content, you have an obsolete forum. That's the way I see it. You can find many benefits to using message boards, such as easier ways to seek out online friendships, a community-like atmosphere, easier-to-use navigation, and actual discussions that are more genuine.

Forums are still important but not because they're forums that we're used to. It's because they're "owned space" meaning you have direct access to the database and contact list of your audience.

The same goes for a blog and a mailing list.

Social media is rented space, and you can lose it all for nothing. We saw that with TikTok. Even if it's back, there is no promise it won't go down again. Plus, they can ban you for any reason they want, and you can't do anything about that because you agreed to those terms when you joined, by joining it.

Social media should be used as a tool not a main platform.
