Any guitarists at Administrata?!

Good afternoon Administrata!

Do we have any guitarists in the house?! I am a relatively new guitar player, only learned a little bit in the last few months really. At a pretty basic level, but can now play a few tunes rather badly.

I am in desperate need of guitar chords for this song:

I've searched high and low online, given it's a really obscure song from an obscure artist nobody has published any chords anywhere and there's only actually a couple of sites that even have the lyrics. (if you notice, the YT video has about 850k views, and I kid you not 10k+ are probably me :ROFLMAO: )

If we have any experienced guitarists here who would be so kind as to listen to this song and work out a chord pattern for it, I will absolutely be the happiest fdk in the whole of Europe and I will of course make sure you're handsomely rewarded with a hefty donation of Credits. :)

Well I'm glad if you'd be the happiest fdk in all of Europe, LoL.

My acoustics were usually downtuned, (haven't played in years), but I picked one up, and it appears he's in G# minor. The chords keep revolving around G#m, B, E and F#.

But either way that makes it a bar chord song. Are you into playing bar chords yet?

Hard to write out measure on a page like this, but he's also hitting on the ands a lot (the B and the E), so the notation would be something like this:

1 _ _ _ 2 _ _ _ 3 _ _ _ 4 _ _ _ 1 _ _ _ 2 _ _ _ 3 _ _ _ 4 _ _ _

G#m .............. B ............................ E .................... F# ....................

Thank you for your work good sir!

I struggle with some bars, obviously the B and F are difficult but I manage to bodge them pretty well. I will probably struggle with this because of the G#m and F#, but now that I've got a basic idea I can try and cheat it using a capo, so thank you very much for your work here. :D

You're welcome : )

If you wanna go capo-less (not sure that's a word), you could do it in Am (Am, C, F, G). Or you could go lower and do it in F#m (F#m, A, D, E), and then you'd only have to contend with the F#m.

You in love with a Capricorn or something? : ) He's singing about a woman born in January (or late December), in case that's why you liked the song.

Will Am, C, F, G work in this without a capo? Music theory is not my thing at all... but that sounds super easy, I already play a song quite well that is just those four chords with an occasional Cadd7.

How did you deduce that he's singing about a Capricorn? That's so creepy...! Weirdly enough, my first real girlfriend (who I'm still friends with and really got me into this song) was born on Christmas day, so is a... Capricorn... That's eerie now.

Yes. And it's only a half step higher vocally, so there should be no difference.

LoL. When I was making out the chords, he used the words "cap girl." The word Cap is typical shorthand for Capricorn.

Ah, gotcha! He actually says "no cap girl I can't lie" which essentially means "I'm not lying". But I can understand where you got that from... maybe just maybe I'm wrong and you're right and there has been hidden meaning in this song all along for me!

Oh man, I love music. Learning the guitar has been such an adventure. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for something creative to do! I am one of the least creative people in the world, and I'm particularly bad at learning new things, but I've had a blast with this!

Could be either one, but that's the way I understood him : )
