What are your thoughts on partnering up with other online communities? This can include a button/banner on one another’s forum and a way to cross promote each other’s forum.

Another thing that could help balance out the partnership is direct linking articles/topics from both communities, which in turn will help each community grow.

Where do you stand on this subject? Do you think it’s a good idea or are you against it?

I think affiliates are a good idea! I still need to get around to adding some affiliates to my forums. I used to have them on forums in the past. It's always a good idea to branch out and help other community admins and in return you can get traffic to your communities too!

I'm all for partnering up with other forums. In fact, I regularly post when I can think of content to discuss. However, there are many forums that have rules against offsite promotions. I understand that some forums are better for certain topics than other topics. Like although my forum specializes in anime role playing, most of my content is geared around older stuff from the 90's and early 2000's. Many anime forums I've been to, while they do have older stuff, much of the time, these topics are archived, and locked, or are discouraged from being discussed. I just know there has to be at least one other person on the planet who likes Ranma 1/2 or All Purpose All Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku! Right?
