I think it depends on the niche of the forum, but if it was a gaming forum I was part of that did a contest I would like to win digital gift cards for either Xbox, Playstation or Steam. Nothing too big, a $10 one would be fine.
This is also helping Bluesky as many people continue to leave Twitter and they are making their way to Bluesky. The lead singer for The Cure, Robert Smith, is finally closing his Twitter account and moving over to Bluesky.
It's actually branching out to local city subs too, I've seen this on a few local subreddits. Good, I'm glad more and more subreddits are banning Twitter after Elon pulled that stunt the other day.
So I guess older websites that don't have JavaScript will be affected by this. Also that really stinks for those who don't want to use JavaScript for security purposes!
I know I need to work on condensing some of my sections on Thee Zone. I've got way too many sub forums and I think it can be off putting for new members. This is something I finally plan on fixing this year, it's something I should have worked on already I admit.
I was thinking of having new member restrictions on one of my forums, but I feel that they do more harm than good on forums these days. Why restrict a new member from doing the same things that a well established member can do? I get being cautious, but you can always keep an eye on the new...
I still never beat Dark Gaia... Anyways I've been playing Turok 3 and Tomb Raider. I keep playing Turok 3 to keep my weekly streak on my Xbox Series S, I've been playing Tomb Raider on my Evercade. It's interesting playing Tomb Raider via a cartridge!

DC is way better than Marvel, not one character from Marvel is better than Raven. :P I prefer to watch animated series than movies though, and DC does better with animated series and animated movies than Marvel does. Marvel does better with the films.
I personally like to come up with a name for my new website, and then I go and see if the .com is taken or not. If it is, then I look at other tld and if they're all taken well I come up with a different name or use a less popular extension like .zone for example. That's how I purchase my domain...
Thank you both for your feedback! I'm bumping this because I've written an article on the site. I don't often do this, and I think this is a very important topic. It's an article on the recent TikTok ban in America...
I enjoy having a community that I'm in control of without the fear of it going down unless it went down due to my own negligence. I also think forums are the best way to communicate with other people, they're more organized and you can have way more meaningful conversations on forums than social...
I'm with Cedric on this one, they probably wanted the domain name you snatched up. Unless they start making their website look identical to yours down to the theme, content etc. I wouldn't worry about it much.
