    The one major thing that annoys me with MyBB is that by default it isn't mobile responsive whereas phpBB is. Yes, you can get a theme for MyBB that is mobile responsive but out of the box a fresh install isn't.

    If you could bring back one forum software

    There is Icy Phoenix. It was an extremely modified phpBB with a built in CMS. http://www.icyphoenix.com I used it a couple times and always found the support forum and team who worked on it really awesome.

    Both free software and both I really enjoy using when it comes to using a free software. Do you have a preference between the two?

    Shared, VPS or Dedicated?

    I just use shared hosting for my blog. If my blog was bigger then perhaps I would look into options but for the space and stuff I get I could have an elephant in my hosting and there would still be space left.

    Preferred Host?

    I've used one called WebHost Python for the past year and never really have run into any issues. The one time they did have an issue I was credited one free month as compensation.
