I've sold many forums. I've also merged forums. I have never had one user ask to be removed. I never really thought it to be a problem.
If a person wanted to be removed I am sure the new owner would oblige them.
Early on with my first forum I moved from custom made that I built to UBB then wwwthreads and finally to vbulletin.
I also moved a few sites from vbulletin to IPB then xenforo and now back to IPB.
I use what I feel is best for what I want to do. I am not loyal to any forum software.
My son and I started a forum in 2015. 2 weeks after we started it his wife told him she was pregnant with his first daughter. I took over the site by myself. A week later I had my first stroke. I left all the sited dormant for a couple years. The new site got off to a good start in the 3 weeks...
I had a forum for referees of all sports geared towards youth and high school athletics. I coached football and baseball back then. It was popular until the school athletic departments put up their own forum.
Again bringing things to xenforo that other software had for years.
If you're waiting for anything groundbreaking from them you'll be waiting a long time.
It's inline with his policy of America First. The platform he stood on and what got him elected for his second term. Everyone knew this was coming so the surprise and shock is disingenuous at best.
Not for me to judge. He only did what he said he would do.
I deleted all the 4.7.x files except for upload folder, constants.php and config.php. Uploaded the files from the zip and went to /admin/upgrade to to finish. There was never an option in the admin cp to upgrade. Only option in admin was to read the upgrade docs. This was an upgrade from 4.7.20...
I am a little disappointed that there isn't a one click upgrade. Other than that I am glad they kept to the dev timeline and released in the time frame.
To uograde it will take some planning. When I uogrded one my sites early on I removed all files except for the upload folder. Another way just...
Ham radio is universal. All the bands are the same everywhere in the World. Each country decides what license class gets which bands to operate on. The language is also universal. Morse code.
The only band you can legally broadcast on without a license is 11 meters which is CD radio. That used to need a license 100. My callsign was WNF1068. It was deregulated in 1984 or so. I think there are a couple UHF frequencies you can broadcast on, but, those are short range communication...
So much different now. In my day I had to pass a code test first then theory test to get a Novice license. Then more code and more theory for Tech, General, Advanced and finally Extra.
I taught novice code classes for a while. At the end we would give the class the test and if they passed we...
I'm a ham operator. Callsign N9KN. I run a Kenwood TS930S.HF rig 10Mto180M. I have a homebrew Drake TR4CW HF rig that I just rebuilt. 250 watts operates on 10-80. It's a CW only rig. I've been licenses since 1980. I operate in 20M CW most of the time.
