  1. They're not much help over at the official Xenforo board, so I figured why not ask here. None of my forum nodes have pages. So I have a lot of threads that users will not be able to access. As I'm sure you're all aware, you can scroll down to the bottom of any node (or sub-forum) and see pages. It usually looks like "2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ... Last page" This way users can check an older page and see all the threads there. My forum isn't displaying that. Does anyone here know how to turn it on? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Does anyone know if there is an addon which will change the thread order? I need to be able to move threads around, so that it doesn't appear that one member spammed 4 or 5 threads in a row, in the same sub-forum. So if anyone knows how to move threads up and down in the list, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
  3. Just as a recommendation, maybe some guidelines could be created for people who are going to create threads. The one I'm thinking of would be, Don't spam threads in one sub-forum, as most forums would not allow this behavior. Since forums won't allow you do to this, it looks like created content. For me the latest instance of this was in the Food of Cleburne sub-forum. It has to look as real as possible, and spam will have the opposite effect. It will drive people away if they think the forum is a fake, so doing this is counter productive. I had no choice but to delete two of the threads because my forum is intended to be a for profit business and when I begin advertising, I can not have new members thinking the forum is staged or is otherwise a fake. It wouldn't be a problem if it were just one person using different user names. But the same easily recognizable (no avatar) username posting 5 threads in a row (talking about food) is not normal user behavior and looks suspicious. Thank you

Hopefully one day this can replace the old Postloop, if anyone remembers that.

I found you from a search I did on the official Xenforo forums. I went looking for content creation, and in a thread I saw Cedric had made a post about this place and how yall provide content for a fee. I also started a thread asking about it and Cedric replied IIRC. Anyway it all came from the Xenforo Forums.
  6. Well I would only want to see Xenforo sites. But maybe there's a list of these thread somewhere. I'll do a search. I would like to look through hundreds of the best Xenforo designs. Where a lot of time, or artistic expression was put into modifying the theme and the way it looked.
  7. It's been a good while since any new threads and posts have been made (aside from me) and I was hoping you might know what is going on with that. I really need to get the forum filled in with content. Also, when this round was complete, I intend to purchase another one. Below you can see what is left, shown in post #3:
  8. Is there somewhere we can see the best forum designs of all time? Maybe a top 10 list somewhere.
  9. I accidentally used Isaac to create threads and posts. For some reason I thought that I had created that username. So the password for Isaac is thebindingof. Like that video game. I guess whoever was meant to start using it can simply do so, or the password can be changed. Sorry about the mistake!
  10. Yes I think the content is already working. All they need to see is that other people are there, and they'll decide its worthwhile to visit from time to time, and to post if they feel the need to. Imo the naysayers on the Xenforo forums are mistaken. They're reading too much into it, you just need to ditch the ghost town look. After that, then begin your marketing campaign.
  11. Thanks I'll check the earlier pages of this thread. I thought I saw a different thread was created for that purpose, but I guess not.
  12. Is that in the admin panel? It doesn't seem to be there under the "Users" tab in the admin panel.
  13. I have a question about the users that have been created: Is there an easy way to tell which users have been created you guys? I'm thinking that a few of the users I've gotten in the past month might be real users. One of them has a @cleburne.net email address. If I'm not mistaken, that's a local government email address. So that could be a real user. I also noticed that there's several users who are using gmail as their email address. I would have thought those were just you guys, but they never posted anything. So I began to suspect that maybe they're real users and they're just your standard lurkers. Any idea how I can tell who's who? There's only about 50 registered users on the user list.
  14. I'm just getting into the groove since I'm new at administrating, so I only make 1 or 2 per day right now. Hopefully I can bump it up to 4 or 5 depending on how many threads my final user base is making.
  15. The holidays are winding down, I hope that yall can get the rest done soon. I would like to be ready to advertise by Jan 10th.
  16. Well I really need the "Welcome new members" section filled out, and I think that forum might be somewhat easier to do. Because you could just copy this page, and change a few words: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/forums/introduce-yourself-here.27/ There's pages and pages there that could be copied, just using a different screen name. And maybe a different word here and there. I wouldn't mind going back and editing them later, if need be. As for emails, you can generate 1 time use emails here: https://www.guerrillamail.com/inbox That way you could create many different screen names. You could just leave the avatars blank, or use random avatars.
  17. You could just focus on getting rid of the "ghost town" look that new forums have. Someone just replying "What a cute possum, I hope it finds a good home!" is enough to make the place look like it has users. The replies can be very simple like that, as long as they are varied and relevant to the topic. For example, the next reply in that possum thread could be "I would consider adopting a possum and giving it a good home, but what is their personality like? Would I have to worry about it ever biting"? That's non-committal. They didn't say for sure they would adopt it, only that they would consider it. But it also gives the impression that they would probably do it if they learned enough about posssums. That's the kind of engagement you want in order to kill the ghost town look and retain new members. (when it comes to reply posts)
  18. I have also responded to a few of your newly created threads, and I will continue to do so. I am curious though, how long does this content creation process take until it is complete?
  19. Wonderful I'm looking forward to it!
  20. Great! Will you guys be starting today?
  21. I need to request some threads created for my local town forum, which is CleburneForums.com I'm new to this so I'm not entirely sure how to go about it. After reading this, if you have any suggestions for me, I would be glad to hear them. I think it's best if I create a list: 1. I want it to look as though there are new members signing up, so I think you should make 1 full page of threads in the "Welcome new members!" forum. Along with a few replies to each new member, welcoming them to the forum. Although I am not sure how many threads will have to be created, in order to fill in that first page. I don't know what the default setting is, so let's just have you stop at 22 threads, each posted by a different member. 2. There is a forum which is not visible to regular members, and I would like you to post nothing inside. It's "Local business advertising". 3. Please add content to the "Buy, Sell, and Trade" forum. Where the members you create will appear to post ads selling things. Other members you create should post replies to the ads, asking a question about the item. Or perhaps saying "DM sent!", so as to imply that the item was sold. And of course, after a "DM Sent" reply has been made, the "OP" who posted the ad can reply "SOLD" so that it looks as though the item as posted, and then sold. I would like for you to create 18 threads in this forum. 4. Please add content to the "Wanted" forum, where want ads are posted by members, and are fulfilled by other members. Only some of the wanted ads you create should have a reply. Many wanted ads are unfulfilled on most forums, so I don't want it to look like every single wanted ad was filled. There can be the usual "DM sent" replies, as well as questions about the items, and replies to those questions by the "OP" of the want ad thread. I would like you to create 16 threads in this forum. 5. There is another forum that I would like for you to avoid, and post nothing inside. It's the "Garage sales" forum. 6. The rest of the forums I believe are self explanatory, and I would like for you to use any remaining threads and replies (that are left after completing my previous instructions) to fill in these remaining forums with threads and replies to those threads. Although I must admit that I'm not sure what lengths you guys go to. For instance, in the forum "Current Events and News from Cleburne", would you simply google some current events in Cleburne Texas and then create a thread about it? The same goes for my "Local Politics" sub forum and the "CISD" (cleburne independent school district) sub forum. I do need content added to those, but I don't have any idea on how to instruct you. So I will have to leave the rest of the forums to your professional opinion. I can't think of anything else, thank you!
