As a moderator, your role will be to help keep our forums clean from spam and ensure our community guidelines are respected. We approach issues with common sense and prefer resolving them calmly rather than immediately issuing warnings. In addition to moderating, we’d love for you to be active on Administrata and contribute by seeding the forum with engaging content. It’s a laid-back role, and you’ll be joining a close-knit, supportive team that always has each other’s backs. While this is typically a volunteer position, there’s an opportunity to participate in content orders and exchange credits for payouts if you’re interested. Both Postloop and TheForumWheel were once pioneers in bringing quality engagement to your forums and blogs. It is a shame both disappeared. I’m curious - what are your memories of these platforms? Did you use Postloop or TheForumWheel in the past? How did they impact your community or content strategy? Were there any features or aspects of these services that stood out to you, and do you think there’s still a place for something similar in today’s online world?

That might be so, but if you read through 10 websites, what are the chances they are all the same and 100% accurate? If I need something quickly, I end up asking my question to ChatGPT. Time is money.

Does anyone have any trolls on their forum? Every forum gets a troll (or a few) at some point. While they can be a headache, they also have a knack for stirring up controversy and keeping discussions active. I would even argue that a well-managed troll can add a bit of spice to a community, making it feel more alive. When handled properly, they can actually be an asset rather than a problem. That said, there’s a fine line between engagement and disruption. There’s no shame in having a troll on your forum, but they need to be closely monitored so things don’t get out of control. So where do you draw the line? Do you let them run free as long as they aren’t breaking the rules, or do you shut them down the moment they start causing trouble? Have you ever had a troll that actually benefited your forum?

It’s nice to have someone on your side, so you don’t end up doing everything alone and above all, feel alone when there’s little traffic. But most importantly, what you need is a couple of friends there ad your original audience, helping you out with posts and traffic. Not necessarily a moderator.
